Is anyone as disgusted as I am by the insults and partisan bickering going on all over the Net and in real life these days? This election has got to be one of the most destructive, polarizing, obnoxious events I have ever witnessed.
I want to know something. I've read all the ranting and raving by the looney left and the rabid right and I wonder if any of it has any effect except to allow those who are basically annoying anyway to vent their spleen. There are a few people who have something useful to say, say their piece and then just go on about their business and I respect them but has anyone here EVER once changed their mind or reconsidered their opinion because of the lunatic ravings of the nuts on either side of the fence???
I'm serious. I will admit that there are a couple of people whose comments interest me enough to read and consider but the ones who are raving day after day after day have become, in my opinion, the cyber equivalent of road-rage drivers on the freeway - all you can do is avoid them as much as possible.
I think Kerry is a sad option but I would burn in hell for violating my ethics if I voted for the incumbent lunatic. And as far as the third-parties are concerned, I admire their sentiments but they are like kissing your brother - ain't nothin' gonna happen (that you can talk about).
These flame-fests might be fine for working out your aggressions against all the injustices life has dealt you but it is only April and I have already figured out - just from reading between the lines on the mega-rants - who the real losers in life are and why they feel so put-upon.
Don't these people have lives and passions and things they want to accomplish with their time and energy? I wish I had their excess of time, to tell the truth.........
