I look back as if it were just yesterday
That night will never be erased from my mind
The vehicle that was headed straight for us
As if the driver had just become blind
It smashed into us with tremendous impact
So much it tore and embedded our skin
To the metal of the dashboard in fact
Of our vehicle we were riding to home in
But ! That was the least of our sorrows
As I now tried to break open my door
In my mind I questioned ,Will their be a tomorrow?
For my family I so loved and adored
My wife her face now covered with blood and glass
Who in their right mind could do such a thing?
The answers were not to far to be found in fact
From the condition the other driver was in
He had no concern for my family that was maimed
All that he wanted was the bottle that was within
To escape the trouble that he was now in
So! You might ask yourself, What do I care?
Such an accident could never happen to me
My friends we must always be aware
Of what is around the next corner , or beyond the next tree
The DRUNKEN DRIVER have no BRAINS
It has been consumed by all they DRANK
So if you go out ,I hope you'll refrain
You will have your loved ones thanks
It does not matter the time of the year
Or even if it be day or dark of night
Even if your home is near or far
You must keep your senses of clear sight
Watch out for the other cars
You do not know who or what it contains
It could be a family like mine or yours
Or the DRUNKEN DRIVER who had just DROWNED his or her brains
